D09 Total Alarm

Definition

Set the flow meter’s alarm mode for totalizer values exceeding the set range. Default: Off. The alarm code belongs to Alarm – B. (D09 , D10 , and D11 work together to enable totalizer target alarm functionality.)

D09、D10、D11 Total Alarm Examples
Example 1: Forward Flow
Enable D09 Total Alarm.
Set D10 Total Trig. to “Greater than Target”.
Set D11 Total Target to a positive value, e.g., +100.
When the cumulative forward flow exceeds 100,
the system triggers the total alarm.

Example 2: Reverse Flow
Enable D09 Total Alarm.
Set D10 Total Trig. to “Less than Target”.
Set D11 Total Target to a negative value, e.g., -500.
When the cumulative reverse flow drops below -500,
the system triggers the total alarm.

Notes

Do Not Disturb mode means that when an anomaly occurs, the screen color will not change, but the numbers in the communication section and the bits in the status page will still show the anomaly.

DND Mode

When Do Not Disturb (DND) mode is enabled:

  • The flow meter detects abnormal conditions but the red backlight will not turn on. Example: Alarm-A “4 Off Pipe” will not trigger the backlight in DND mode.

  • Abnormal conditions are still displayed on the Status/Alarm page.

  • If connected via RS485, the monitoring system still receives the alarm signal.

  • OCT alarm outputs continue to operate if configured.

Operation Procedure

Button Functions (Click to Expand)

When the main screen is displayed in green backlight, the four buttons function as follows:

  • Blue Button (leftmost): Return, exit, or save settings.

  • Gray Direction Buttons:

    • Left Gray: Previous Page, decrease value, or select item

    • Right Gray: Next Page, increase value, or select item

  • Orange Button (rightmost): Rightmost button: Enter settings, edit, or confirm selection

Button functions may change depending on the operation context to improve usability or prevent accidental presses.

Totalized Flow Alarm Function (Click to Expand)

This function triggers an alarm when the totalized flow reaches a value greater than or less than the preset target.

Totalizer Alarm Operation

When the totalizer alarm is enabled and the accumulated flow meets the trigger condition, the system triggers Alarm B. The alarm bits (Bit6, Bit7) are set to 1, indicating that the alarm is active.

The alarm behavior follows the mode set in D09:

  • ON: The receiving system receives the alarm signal, and the meter displays a red backlight alarm.

  • Do Not Disturb (DND): The receiving system still receives the alarm signal, but the meter does not display a red backlight alarm.
