# Alarms and System Status - R

A bit value of **1** indicates an active alarm or status. Refer to the table below for system status descriptions.

## **Alarm - A:** Critical Failure

The system classifies this alarm according to the **“Failed” severity level** as defined in the **NAMUR NE107** standard.

This alarm is triggered under the following fault conditions:

* **Paddlewheel malfunction**
* **Magnetic field interference**
* **Internal chip or sensor error**

When Alarm - A is active, the **LCD backlight flashes red** to indicate a **critical system failure**.

**Alarm A Error Code Definition:** Bits are defined from **MSB (Bit 7)** to **LSB (Bit 0)**, with each bit representing the following:

**D01 Paddle Ala** default is **Do not disturb** (value = 2). In this mode, the alarm bit is recorded in the error code register but the LCD backlight will **not** change color. Set **D01** to **On** (value = 1) to enable LCD alarm color indication.

### **Alarm - B: Out of Specification**

This alarm indicates that the **flow meter is operating outside of its designed specification range**.\
The severity level is recommended to follow the **“Out of Specification” category** as defined in the **NAMUR NE107** standard.

This alarm is typically used to signal:

* **Flow exceeding user-defined thresholds**
* **Other notable operating conditions that require attention**

The thresholds and logic can be configured under the **D parameter category**.

When Alarm - B is active, the **LCD backlight turns solid red**, indicating a non-critical but attention-required condition.

D08, D09, D10 Cumulative Alarm Description

Example 1: Positive Flow
Enable the D08 cumulative alarm, and set the D09 cumulative condition to "Greater than target".
Set the D10 cumulative target to a positive number, such as +100.
When the cumulative positive flow exceeds 100, the system will trigger the cumulative alarm.

Example 2: Negative Flow
Enable the D08 cumulative alarm, and set the D09 cumulative condition to "Less than target".
Set the D10 cumulative target to a negative number, such as -500.
When the cumulative negative flow is less than -500, the system will trigger the cumulative alarm.

**D04 FlowLIM Ala** default setting is **Off** (value = 0). Set **D04** to **On** (1) or **Do not disturb** (2) to enable flow limit alarm monitoring. Refer to the **D Alarm & Info** parameter section for full configuration details.

### **Alarm - C: Maintenance Required**

This alarm indicates that the **flow meter requires maintenance**.\
The recommended severity level follows the **“Maintenance Required” classification** as defined in the **NAMUR NE107** standard.

> &#x20;Therefore, all Alarm C bits are NA and this alarm will not be triggered on this model.

### **Alarm - D: Function Check**

This alarm indicates that the device is currently **in setup, simulation, or another manual operation** and is **not in real-time monitoring**.The recommended severity level follows the **“Function Check”** category as defined in the **NAMUR NE107** standard.

When this state is active, **Bit 0 of the alarm register is set to 1**, indicating the system is **not in monitoring mode** due to a user operation.

During this state, the **LCD backlight will remain solid amber (orange)** to indicate the flow meter is in a **non-operational configuration mode**.

> ⓘ Alarm D does **not** appear as a row on the LCD alarm display screen. The amber backlight is the only on-screen indicator. This state is also readable via Modbus at register address **0x0011** (error code d), Bit 0.

### **System Status**

The **System Status** is represented by an **8-bit status code** (Bits 0–7), with each bit independently indicating a specific operating state of the device.

> ⓘ **The FP-AS310R has no NPN/OCT output function.** Therefore, all System Status bits are NA and this register will always read 0x00 on this model.
