# A05 Direction

### Definition

Sets which flow direction the unit treats as forward flow, so the flow reading is correct.\
The FP-AS310 only displays positive flow, so this setting must match the direction the liquid actually travels through the unit. The default is Normal.

Choose the option by comparing the liquid's flow with the flow arrow on the paddle seat and T-connector:

* **Normal (default):** The liquid flows in the direction of the arrow. Choose this when the unit is installed following the arrow.
* **Inverse:** The liquid flows against the direction of the arrow. Choose this when the unit is installed against the flow and you want to correct the reading by setting instead of re-installing.

* **Paddle seat:** The arrow on top of the paddle set shows the direction of flow. The top side of the arrow points toward the outlet (line-out) side.
* **T-connector:** The green arrow sign marks the flow direction on the T-connector, as shown in the figure.

Then compare the arrows with the actual flow:

* **Liquid flows the same way as the arrows:** select **Normal**.
* **Liquid flows opposite to the arrows:** select **Inverse**.

* After changing A05, return to the main screen and confirm the flow reading is as expected.
